MPBA Awards 2026

These nominations reflect the scale, speed and quality of Vanguard’s work across the NHS, supporting healthcare providers to maintain and enhance patient care during periods of both planned transformation and unexpected disruption.

Recognised for rapid response and clinical impact

Two of the shortlistings highlight Vanguard’s work with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, following a critical infrastructure incident at Princess of Wales Hospital.

In response, Vanguard delivered a rapid, end-to-end solution to restore vital services. Within just šest tjedana, a fully operational endoscopy complex was opened, followed by a four-theatre surgical suite within nine weeks. These facilities enabled the health board to quickly reinstate diagnostic and surgical capacity, supporting recovery efforts and helping to address waiting lists.

This project has been shortlisted in the following categories:

• Best Temporary Building Project – Public Sector (Healthcare)
• Project of the Year – Healthcare (Secondary/Tertiary)

Supporting community-based diagnostics in Swindon

Vanguard has also been shortlisted for Project of the Year – Healthcare (Primary Care) for its work delivering a Community Diagnostic Centre in Swindon, in partnership with Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The facility has been designed to bring essential diagnostic services closer to patients, reducing pressure on acute hospital sites while improving access, patient flow and overall experience. It demonstrates how flexible, modular infrastructure can support key NHS priorities, including earlier diagnosis and the shift towards community-based care.

Together, these nominations showcase the breadth of Vanguard’s expertise — from rapid-response temporary solutions to strategically planned healthcare facilities that support long-term transformation.
